Kundalini mantras and chants with crystal singing bowls
Inspired by the sacred songs and mantras of Kundalini Yoga, River of Light is a portal of sound and vibration that opens the heart to help heal the emotional wounds that keep us from knowing ourselves as the full expression of the Divine. Ashana’s pure, angelic vocals and the crystalline sound of her alchemy bowls weave a sonic texture of transcendent love through these chants, mantras and sacred prayers drawn from the Sikh tradition. Ong Namo is the whisper of the Soul in the etheric realms responding to our prayer to merge and live as One. Mere Man Loche, one of the most beautiful love poems ever written, is a heart opening prayer of divine devotion. Aad Guray Nameh carries the listener on a wave of compassion, invoking divine protection within an ocean of peace. Mul Mantra/Golden Amrit takes us into an experience of Expansive Creation and immerses us deeply into the Void of Stillness. Sat Narayan helps to heal and balance the waters of the emotional body and align with the light that courses through all life, alive in us, as us. Sat Gur Prasad calms the negative mind, teaching us to celebrate and welcome all of life’s experiences with gratitude. Guru Ram Das is a mantra of miracles and protection, invoking the grace of the gift of healing that comes when we open ourselves to Love, in every part of our being.
“It is with great, great love and joy that I now offer these mantras and prayers to you in a fusion of two sound currents that are nearest and dearest to my heart. Every crystal bowl in this recording was chosen to enhance, expand and support the vibration of these sacred texts. I believe the alchemy of these two sonic frequencies creates a powerful marriage that takes us deep within where we can soar to the highest heights to rest peacefully in the Presence of our own Divine Light. May this Holy Naad and Sacred Sound give you comfort, bring you joy and be a reminder that the Beloved lives ever and always within you as the Love You Are.”

Many years ago, long before I had ever heard of, let alone chanted a Kundalini Yoga mantra, a dear friend and mentor suggested that something called “Kundalini Yoga” might be good for me. After a brief search, I discovered (much to my surprise and delight) that my home in Espanola, NM, just “happened” to be four miles away from Yogi Bhajan’s ranch and the center of Kundalini Yoga in the Western Hemisphere. Around the same time, with beautiful synchronicity that could only be orchestrated from the ethers, this same dear friend introduced me to crystal singing bowls, suggesting that they were (and I quote) “right up your alley.” On the auspicious day when my first bowl arrived in my house, I took it out of the box, chimed the side and promptly burst into tears. I knew instantly that light had come to live in my house and I vowed that one day I would put this exquisite sound to music. Along those same lines, upon hearing Gurmukhi as it was being read from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib (the sacred scriptures of the Sikhs) during my first visit to the Gurdwara in Espanola, my knees buckled and I burst into tears. The very cells in my body recognized the sound and I wept.
It is with great, great love and joy that I now offer these mantras and prayers to you in a fusion of two sound currents that are nearest and dearest to my heart. Every crystal bowl on this album was chosen to enhance, expand and support the vibration of these sacred texts. I believe the alchemy of these two sonic frequencies creates a powerful marriage that takes us deep within where we can soar to the highest heights to rest peacefully in the Presence of our own Divine Light.
May this Holy Naad and Sacred Sound give you comfort, bring you joy and be a reminder that the Beloved lives ever and always within you as the Love You Are.
With all my heart,
Ashana
